We use storage that is strictly necessary for the site to do what you have asked it to do. That covers keeping a form's contents while you are filling it in, and remembering that you have dismissed a notice so it does not reappear on every page.

Strictly necessary storage does not require your consent, under the exemptions in the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations. That is not a loophole we are leaning on: it is the reason there is no consent banner in front of this site, and it is only true for as long as we do not add anything else.

• We do not run advertising trackers on this site.
• We do not embed a third-party map, a video player or a chat widget in a page, because each of those sets storage on your device before you have chosen anything.
• We do not build a profile of you from the pages you read.

If we add anything that is not strictly necessary, including analytics, we will ask you first, through a consent control that lets you say no as easily as yes, and this page will list what it is and how long it lasts before it appears anywhere on the site.

Every browser lets you see what a site has stored and clear it. Clearing ours will lose an unsaved form and nothing else.
